Token flags
Token flags are a way of managing individual card behaviours without requiring a change to the overall card product or affecting other cards issued on the platform. These settings are verified for each incoming authorization request prior to the Rules Engine validations.
For example, you can configure token flags to control the following card behaviours:
- Set card to decline failover to magstripe at EMV-capable ATMs
- Set card to decline all ATM cash withdrawals
- Set card to decline non-base currency (FX Transactions)
- Set card to decline mag-stripe transactions at ATMs
Product-level VS card-level flags
Token flags can be configured at product or card level.
- At product level: Any flags selected at product level automatically apply to all cards issued under that particular product. The system can also force any changes in the configuration to apply to all existing cards as well. It is possible to turn a token flag off at card level, despite the product-level flag being active.
- At card level: Amend a specific token flag, which only applies to that particular card.
How can I manage token flags?
Token flags can be managed in two ways:
- ViaPayControl in the View/Edit card details section;
- Or by using the Edit card's tok flags endpoint.
