Validate card data
Identify the funding card and validate the data used for provisioning.
Lume Token connects to your configured card management system to identify the funding card and validate the request. This can be Paymentology Lume, Lume, Voucher Engine, or an agreed third-party CMS integration.
Checks
Depending on the data supplied and your integration, checks cover the PAN, card status, expiry, CVV when supplied, and cardholder information. A card that cannot be identified and a recognized card with incorrect credentials are different decline scenarios.
Notification mode
Paymentology handles the checks and the scheme response. Your notification records the outcome. A recognized card reference can be included even when a credential check fails, allowing you to associate the event with the card.
Do not treat the Paymentology card reference as the scheme's network-token reference. Several network tokens can belong to one funding card.
Advice mode
When Paymentology performs validation, it forwards the request with the failed-check decline indication where appropriate. The issuer still returns the response. In an agreed setup where the issuer receives and validates sensitive PCI data, those validation responsibilities sit with the issuer. See Advice mode.
